Soori’s Mandaadi has performed exceptionally well at the box office in its opening week. The film released head-to-head with Karthi’s Sardar 2 and was made on a budget of around ₹75 Cr; the biggest of Soori’s career, which had raised doubts over whether a film of this scale could work for him at the box office. Those doubts have been comprehensively answered, and Sardar 2’s poor run at the box office has added a further advantage for Mandaadi.

A New Career Peak for Soori
Mandaadi has not just achieved the biggest opening week of Soori’s career, but it is his career-biggest grosser already. His previous highest-grosser stood in the ₹60 Cr range, and Mandaadi has already blown past that mark within a single week. The film is now firmly on course to take Soori into the ₹100 Cr club at the box office, with a good second week expected to carry it there.
